Testing Information (It's that time of time Year)
New state regulations have added additional tests for all Pollard students.  Students will continue to take the Math and Language Arts EOG (the 8th Grade will also take a Science EOG), and the state has also added another set of tests called Common Exams (CE), also referred to as an Measures of Student Learning (MSL).  Unlike EOGs that are entirely multiple choice, CEs are a combination of short answer and multiple choice.  All 6th Graders will take 3 tests:  Math EOG, Language Arts EOG, and a Science CE.  All 7th Grade students will take 3 tests as well: Math EOG, Language Arts EOG, and either the Science or Social Studies CE (depending on which class the student is currently taking).  One important note:  The state has notified us that scores for these tests will not be available until sometime in the fall.

We still need volunteers to help proctor!! If you can help, please contact Ms. Hester at 919.696.0070.

Below are testing dates:
Extend 2 English Language Arts May 7, Extend2 Math May 8, Extend2 Science 8th Grade May 9

Mr. Sudol 2013-2014 Teacher of the Year!
Congratulations to 8th Grade Math Teacher, Justin Sudol, who was elected as Pollard's third Teacher of the Year.  Mr. Sudol will serve as Teacher of the Year for the 2013-2014 academic calendar.  Many thanks to Ms. Norwood who is our current school and district Teacher of the Year for doing such a tremendous job!
Pollard's Mr. Clark selected to join educator trip to India
This past weekend, 8th Grade Math Teacher Chris Clark found out that he was selected by The Center for International Understanding to join a group of educators for two weeks in India this summer.  The selection is a tremendous honor as all North Carolina educators are eligible, and only 35 participate.  The idea of the program is for North Carolina educators to explore the historical, cultural, and educational aspects of life in India and utilize characteristics of that learning experience with the students back in North Carolina. "I am excited about this great opportunity!" said an enthusiastic Mr. Clark.  Two years ago, Pollard's Ms. Streets was selected and traveled to China.
